Perhaps it sounds too idyllic for a veterinarian to reveal that he spent his childhood growing up on a cattle farm. Or maybe it comes across as too formulaic for a veterinarian to say that he developed his passion for medicine while working at his father’s veterinary practice.
But story clichés and formulas aside, all of the above is true about Dr. Chase Whitworth. Dr. Whitworth did grow up on a cattle farm with five siblings in Madison, Alabama. And Dr. Whitworth did develop his passion for veterinary medicine while working at his father’s small animal veterinary practice.
Dr. Whitworth graduated from Bob Jones High School and then attended Auburn University, where he received both his undergraduate and veterinary degrees. As a practicing veterinarian, Dr. Whitworth takes a special interest in surgery, animal reproduction, dermatology, and internal medicine.
Dr. Whitworth and his wife Lindsay have two children and two German Shorthaired Pointers. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys traveling, golf, and (of course) Auburn football.
Born in Honolulu, she grew up in a military family in which they eventually settled in Enterprise, Alabama. Dr. Buird graduated as Valedictorian from Enterprise High School and was accepted into the early entry program at Mississippi State University where she received both undergraduate and graduate degrees. She has worked in general veterinary practice and emergency medicine in Florida as well as emergency and specialty care in Virginia and Birmingham.
Dr. Buird belongs to the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. Her veterinary areas of interests are internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine.
She lives in Trussville with her husband Kevin, two daughters – MacKenzie and Masyn, and wire-haired Chihuahua mix named Monkey. Outside of the clinic, she loves to read, spend time with family and cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs in all sports!
Dr. Will Murray joined Patton Chapel Animal Clinic in 2018. A Minnesota native, Dr. Murray graduated from North Dakota State University and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (summa cum laude) from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has worked in veterinary hospitals since 2013 as a veterinary assistant. His professional interests include internal medicine, pet surgery
Outside the vet hospital, Dr. Murray lives in Birmingham with his wife Adrian and their Brittany Spaniel, Daisy, and enjoys outdoor activities, golf, reading and watching Auburn football.
