Dr. Sam Sotrop joined Patton Chapel Animal Clinic in 2022.
Dr. Sotrop is from Maplewood, NJ. He attended undergraduate at Auburn University and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. His favorite parts of veterinary medicine are working with birds and diagnostic imaging, but he also loves using his veterinary knowledge on international mission trips.
Dr. Sotrop lives in Helena with his wife, Sarah, and their daughter, Lydia. They are frequently found visiting the education birds Alabama Wildlife Center, or watching movies and playing board games. At the time, the family includes a black lab named Piper, but cats and reptiles are expected to join the roster.
Dr. Sotrop is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV) and the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV).
